She doesn't truly love her body, she just violently tries to convince everybody, including herself, that she did -- because she can't afford to change her body. It's always tied to this one condition for her: "I couldn't afford to change my body surgically, so I decided to love myself" (somewhere around 2:30). Loving her body is just a makeshift solution for her until she can afford what she sees as the real solution, cutting it all off. She even tries to raise the money for the procedure she desires online. That doesn't really say "I love the way I am".

I think it's great that she's so accepting of herself. I went from 310 to today, 125. At about 165 pounds, I had my first tummy tuck. About 5 years later, the second one more for scar revision. I've had my breasts done (I joked my bra size was a 34 long). I'm fine with my arms and legs. Those aren't bad enough for me to want to do surgery. It's an individual choice. I think she's great!

the excess skin skin is a living indicator all time to show how much one have lost and it is inspiring. not to say it should be kept, but for those who cant afford or couldnt find opportunity to get excess skin removal surgery, they need to stay positive this way

It's sad to see how many people are bitter in the Comments. What drives people to say mean stuff to someone who never harmed anyone?
Finding comfort in overeating is a Million times better than finding confidence in shaming others. The ones who really have no self control are the ones who must hurt others in order to feel better about themselves. Such people should be highly ashamed about the fact that they can't feel happy with themselves unless they make others miserable.

I have to agree with this young lady !! I had my muffin top taken off and I was great BUT a month later I came down with a infection, I landed in the hospital for 2 weeks with MRSA and almost died .. ALMOST DIED !! It was a surreal experience 😢
Now, I’ve gained more weight back than I’ve lost and all my fat is around my organs & in my legs .. I now have lymphatic blockages around my knees .. NOW, now I need Weightloss surgery 😢 .. so keep your body

I totally understand her posting about this. Excess skin is a issue when people who are very overweight change their lives around and lose weight, and she herself didn't know about it and thought it was unique to her. Now she can share with other people going through similar things or who might who otherwise wouldn't have that support - like the model on the panel.

Before Amanda moved to California, she use to live in the general area I am from and I spoke to her through tumblr about doctors and advice that she had as she goes through her own journey; I've been following her story since the beginning. I absolutely admire her, because of her honesty, kindness and determination to better her life. Bettering her life wouldn't have been possible if she didn't love her body through her ENTIRE transformation. And she did, because if she didn't, why would she have posted so many intimate pictures of her progress when others are too ashamed of their skin to do so? To the haters, I'm sorry you're not as brave as she is, most people aren't, but you should still try to be a good person and leave things unsaid if you only want to bring someone down. She absolutely deserves this surgery, and I'm sure she will love and accept her scars just the same.
