The 10th annual Desmond Tutu Lecture takes place today where two of the world’s most relevant young voices for climate change will take the podium. Christina Figueres, the former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Christina has won multiple awards and credit for her role in bringing together national governments, corporations and activists to deliver the historic Paris Agreement on climate change signed in 2016.The second young climate activist is Vanessa Nakate, the 23 year-old whose weekly demonstrations to highlight climate change in her native Uganda saw her team up with Greta Thunberg at the World Economic Forum in Davos this year. For more on this, we chat to Piyushi Kotecha, CEO of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
