Do you agree that feral horses destory habitat? They are a major management problem on our public lands out West. Will public land could be the next endangered species? This wildlife conservation story features the most important bird you've probably never heard of. Sage grouse hunting has been a fixture of American culture since the earliest pioneers settled the West. This native upland game bird is the canary in the coal mine for the sagebrush landscape it calls home. Sagebrush habitat loss due to a variety of threats could place the sage grouse on the endangered species list affecting western public lands the size of Texas! Join Wingmen Todd Helms and Ike Eastman as they explore the story of the sage grouse. This film aims to open the eyes of the American public to an issue they are likely completely unaware of, but could have a real impact on their day to day lives.

Yakima nation in Eastern Washington is trying to get rid of their wild horses.
They want an open season on them I believe?

Anything feral if the population isn’t managed correctly for a balance of everything is a problem horses are no different you can eat a horse too

In Australia they can be hunted same with camels, pigs, dingoes, water buffalo, and even feral cats. We should probably round up a good amount of mustangs to sell but ultimately it would become to expensive to maintain. What we could do is call hunt a lot of them and sell the meat to country’s that eat horse meat. It would solve the financial problems of holding mustang’s, it would free up a lot of grazing space for wildlife(especially with how hard we got hit with snow out here) and we can still have wild mustangs. Ultimately if we allow hunting of mustangs a lot of issues would be solved.

Its amazing how some animals are Not Native but Tear up habitat and Nothing is done! Horses have Destoyed Thousands of Acres of Habitat and Should Be Eraticated From All National Park and Government Land! If private land owners want to keep them then they Must have Fenching Heavy Enough to Keep Them Off Government Land Period!
I Hope I Made Myself Clear ! 😎👍

I think that it should be legal to catch them and use them still. As is the government said here we will help it definitely didn't help. I personally love seeing the wild horses. And I would love it to be legal to catch them.

Anyone who has owned a horse and had it on pasture knows exactly how hard they are on land. Anyone who says feral horses aren’t a problem are not knowledgeable about horses or land management.

Most people don’t realize that anything that is invasive will always effect the ecosystem and the environment in any sort of way. Doesn’t matter if it’s a pig, a horse, a bird, or even an insect

Oh geez man millions of acres fire hazard grass not being ate let alone grouse has endless ground to refuse on...
If they are a problem manage the horses 1 per 10 acres then still would be under that ratio1 horse to 10 acres!!

Only a problem for your grazing cattle...otherwise they are eating the weeds of the Plains, and they roam. They keep moving, just like Bison. Your cattle are the problem.

No, it’s us humans who are the biggest threat.!

How about addressing the abuses of wild horses kept in crowded pens by BLM? Also, about how they’re sold for meat to Canada? Not buying the abuse to habitat theory.

The blm is already doing roundups catching them and essentially donating them to legitimate equestrians. I think they all need to be rounded up.

That said, the hundreds of thousands of cattle roaming the free ranges are also a gigantic resource eater

It's amazing how we try to get rid of invasive species like hogs or Eurasian doves. Open season. But when it comes to mustangs it's the opposite. Eradication is the only solution.

Horses are not an invasive species. Dont talk about "being honest with ourselves" and then spit out a blatant lie

Horses aren’t native animals so dudes got a point. if it were a native species of animals it would be a different story.
