Love the content...I'm a 59 year old man from Wisconsin who has given 40 years of my life to the Millwright trade....getting ready to retire and start the next episode in my life journey. Incidentally I wanted to say that welding is very dependent on the quality of your ability. A good welder can lay an inch-inch and a half bead of weld that will hold 3000# so I'm glad you let the professional weld that base for you!! The tusk itself looks very cool....and if I had a spot for it would love to display....glad you didn't run into more troubles finishing this project. Patience is forever a virtue...love your work!!

I love the material, I keep the spirits of these fantastic animals alive, every little piece of tusk I get is treated with the utmost respect. I carve little amulets/pendants for people who have the right mind set, as everything in this world is connected, and to me, every little piece that I carve and preserve, is appreciated and remembered.

If my husband told me he spent over $7K on a Mammoth tusk and it turned out to actually be real and the end result looked as good as yours, I'd be the most excited and stoked woman ever!!! I am an amateur fossil collector though. Watching your process was so much fun and the end result turned out incredible! You showed respect for the animal and what is now a piece of beautiful art and history. I hope you and your family enjoy it for decades to come! What a rare find!!!❤
