My mom’s uncle found a Mastodon tusk in southern Minnesota many decades ago. He still had it in a large long glass or plastic tube when he died in 1994. He had been trying to sell it, asking $10, 000 for it, but nobody would pay him that much for it. His son told me that he was going to donate it to a museum. It was very straight and the outside looked like bar soap that was sitting outside 5 years with layers flaking off. I don’t remember seeing any cracks in it. Wish I had pictures of it.

Beautiful tusks! It's a shame Obama screwed up the laws in America when it comes to Mammoth tusks. It was a pretty greaseball move for him to equate Mammoth tusk to elephant ivory.
