Competitive games are crazy. I usually have minis and 4 weapons. That number drops to 3 most days because I find a sniper obsolete late game in most cases. Drops to 2 if I decide an SMG isn’t worth it somehow as my AR doubles up as a high rpm gun. But ONE weapon?
Hearing “The AR is the most expendable drop” felt like heresy. It is *the* weapon besides the shotgun. Just goes to show building is so crazy prevalent that only an SG is needed because you always force the fights within 4 floor tiles in a 1x1 or something weird like that.

Common Meta:
Build Cups: Carry one or two weapons of choice and shields and movement or utility.
Zero Build Cups: Make sure to carry a rifle or ranged weapon to beam someone from sky or in open and Rifts are the main key to escape out of fights.

I mean, with the safe zone shrinking, the distance between players gets smaller, and shotguns would outperform any other guns of the same rarity, because the damage per shot is higher and the damage gets more concentrated the closer the target is

The mobility items are good to get out of your opponent's range or into their blind spots, and the two different healing items are good, you can't use the slow one often because it's too big of a risk, and the fast ones recover too little health for each
