COP 27 “Turning Point” Catalyzing action around the climate imperative
Показать описание
Business Pavilion of Egypt | COP 27 Blue Zone | Nov. 8, 2022 @ 2:45
Deloitte Center for Sustainable Progress | International Organisation of Employers
Background
Time is no longer running out to act on climate change; it’s up, and the global economy is at a crossroads. If the world acts now to rapidly achieve net-zero emissions transformation of the economy would set the world up for stronger economic growth by 2070. Such a transformation could increase the size of the world economy by $43 trillion in net present value terms from 2021-2070. We have the technologies, business models, and policy approaches today to deliver rapid decarbonization and limit global warming to as close to 1.5°C by century’s end.
This event will bring together senior climate leaders and advisors to discuss the ways in which the private sector can act as catalysts for sustainable progress. Panelists will explore challenges and areas of opportunity, bring forward regional perspectives, and outline pathways to rapidly scale ambition around the climate imperative. COP 27 marks a turning point for the global community to go farther, faster, together. This drive for enhanced ambition necessitates a deeper investigation of barriers, enablers, and requisite architecture elements needed to catalyze action.
