Mac Premo: Learn How to Trust Yourself

In March, the EIU Department of Art welcoming Brooklyn-based visiting artist Mac Premo, who, in addition to giving a traditional formal lecture, conducted an extensive Q&A session with students. He also took the time to pop into several classrooms and studios to provide students with one-on-one feedback.
A concept Premo hammered home was that art is a highly personal practice. The motivation for your work has to be yours. "When you learn how to trust yourself, the steps you take get a lot bigger. And even if they're in the wrong direction ... they're in a direction, which is very important."
