Atleast Agadmator puts effort in his thumbnails.

First he plays against a 5 year old, now against a mystery man. Karpov's enemies have become quite interesting over the years.

The fact it was Karpov playing in the grand finals makes it perfect. The final boss of chess strikes again

I love how Anatoly Karpov is always willing to be the surprise final boss for all these TV chess players.

He is Misha Osipov in disguise and grown up. This was his redemption arc.

Karpov's understanding of the game is just incredible. He may not be one of the top players currently anymore, but he's very clearly one of the legends of the game

When Karpov made that Knight move, I saw him twitch a little; and at that moment he knew it was going to be okay.

I see a lot of ppl trashing on rey enigma for this game, but time management is part of the competition and karpov is karpov, I'd like to see the critics hold up as well as he did against karpov. Amazing match.

Imagine if it was Eric Rosen and he couldn't use his signature queen stalemate trap because then everyone would know it was him

Just for those who are confused/offended: before even revealing that Karpov was gonna be the opponent, the host Levy mentioned (Risto Mejide) agreed with Rey Enigma to play the game until the very end, and that's why he didn't resign before.

I was really excited to see you were covering this game Levy, from your Spanish community: ¡gracias!

Its Max Deutsch, he spent a month learning Spanish after his intense battle against Magnus.

Karpov is pretty old in chess terms now, he’ll miss some tactics but he’s still the positional master. People sometimes overlook that if Kasparov was never in the picture then Karpov would be the undisputed number 1 for several decades

someone on TV: I'm good at chess.
Karpov: How good?

Despite some slight time mis-management here, Anatoly Karpov showed his understanding of the position once again.. Considering he's 70 already, I think he played very well, which is a feat by itself. The only other players, that could do the same (and did) and that I can think of, were Vasily Smyslov and Viktor Korchnoi.

I can't help but admire the great Anatoly Karpov and his long-lasting level of mastery of chess.

But also thumbs up for the 'enigmatic' opponent, who did not play too badly at all.

That was it. Thanks Gotham. That was the motivation I needed, seriously. Going back to finish my Engineering degree. Wish me luck ✊🏼

Bro, as a spanish speaker, I'm amazed at how well you roll your Rs. You really make an effort to correctly pronounce the players' names no matter where they're from. Legend!
