I bought The Doors-Live in Detroit, and it's fantastic..and because of the price, I'm sure you can still find it. Also bought Jerry Garcia Band, and the Marvel Comics album(yet to listen to them).

I hit the local record store in mid-afternoon, and no one was even looking at the RSD boxes. I ended up picking up the Morphine rarities disc, which was one of the few that I was even interested in...but I was glad to get it!

The chat with folks during the wait in line is one of the highlights of the day for me. It was cold where I was, too, but thankfully no snow or rain. I was sixth in my line, but managed to get everything I was after, including the one copy of Better Than Ezra the store got. Also got STP and U2. Listening to the stream of U2 on the way to the store is what convinced me to actually buy it, because I was on the fence about it before.

I love the list. I drive 3 hours to Amoeba San Francisco to use the list. I was 2nd this year and got everything I wanted. I lucked out and got the Jane's Addiction album with all member's signatures.

Great video Nick. I agree with you, I was underwhelmed by the BF list this year. For the first time in years, I couldn't make it to the record store on the day. I was able to pick up the three albums I wanted online the next day. I am being more selective on what I buy as you are. I always ask myself, how often will I listen to a particular album . If I decide not often then I pass on the purchase.

OBI just gets put inside the jacket. The only album I wanted was Better than Ezra, but I had to work. I noticed most stores across the US only got 1 copy. So I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

Great pick ups there Nick.
I usually keep the obi strip attached on the side.. Makes the album look more attractive.

I picked up Daniel Powter - DP, Stone Temple Pilots - Purple Rarities, Thievery Corporation - The Richest Man In Babylon, Garbage - Copy/Paste, Pearl Jam - Waiting for Stevie/Wreckage (Live), Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - Challengers (Mixed) and even though I already have Better Than Ezra - Deluxe from back when they did their Pledge Music press in 2018, I picked up the RSDBF copy of that as well.

I picked up a few - got the Doors (sounds good), Big Brother (another live Detroit recording!), the High Fidelity soundtrack (really wanted this), the Jimi Hendrix (a really good Band of Gypsies recording), the Ramones (thought it sounded decent if not great), and John Lee Hooker. Also ordered the Grateful Dead and Emily Remler online yesterday, so should have those soon. It was a good haul. I did debate getting the Doors because it is pricey, but after spinning it, I’m very glad I did get it.

I didn't make it out until today, Sunday, due to work, so I basically ended up with leftovers. The best of what was left. Had to pass on The Doors and Bill Evans, too expensive. No Ramones, STP, Stones, U2, Van Halen, or Sponge Bob. Scored some OK records with The Beatles 7", Jazz Dispensary, Tangerine Dream, Garbage, the 2 Echo's, Joni Mitchell, Cypress Hill CD, Jane's Addiction, and Utopia.

I try to save all the little bits that come with the album. I had to work so I couldn't make it but I was really only interested in the STP album. but as you said I have the deluxe edition so it wasn't for the music as much as just having it on vinyl for the first time. Great mini haul, thanks for making the video!

Pro Tip - Trim around the edges of the hype sticker with scissors and tape it to an appropriate sized bit of card stock.

I was able to grab - STP, Van Halen, Duff McKagan, Cat Stevens, and U2. I did get out early as well (4:00am)

Got the U2 album, the STP Purple rarities, and Garbage's 'Copy\Paste' and thought all three were fantastic. I think the draw for me for U2 was seeing the final form of 'Mercy' in 'The luckiest man in the world'. Agree with you, U2's demos tend to be a little too free form for me, but it's interesting to hear them on vinyl.

I stuck with the jazz this year. Picked up the Sahib's Jazz Party which I was really surprised to find, and the Bill Evans in Norway. Also grabbed the Billie Eilish for my daughter. My local store was absolutely dead for an RSD - only around 15 people in line by the time the doors opened.

My local store didn't even get any titles. Owner said the list was weak. I agree.

Dearborn Music is a great place. I happened to be in Columbus this year and visited a store there called RPM. There were about 20 people in line at 7:45 when I arrived. They had everything I would've wanted although a local store is willing to set aside some titles for me each year. I ended up buying a few including STP and Ramones.
