I'm leaving social media forever

Full transparency. I have rejoined Instagram as I've decided that I find value and inspiration when using this tool in moderation. - This could change. But I didn't want anyone to think I was a phony.

Good luck friend. I deleted Facebook 4 years ago and I'm fine. No Instagram, no Twitter, occasional YouTube, but that's the extent of my social media use these days. It can be done and your world does not end. I wish you all the best with it!

4 years ago I closed my advertising and design business of almost 20 years, got rid of my computer, and pretty much got offline. No more social media (I don't count YouTube because me commenting here is nothing like Facebook, etc). I also got a job at the Costco gas station and my life, and wife, and kids, are all so much better for those intentional choices. God bless you in this move into the real world around you!!!

I quit all of them one month back and I'm feeling super good about that. Social media is screwed and has become the main culprit towards mankind collapse

Yay! Social media is kinda useless. I deleted Facebook last year and realized how much anxiety it was giving me.

Happy for you. I deleted all my accounts a couple of days ago. It feels like a sense a liberation that I haven’t felt in a long time.

I’m on this journey too. YouTube is a great hybrid outlet. Good luck :)

I left most of social media this January and it's been relieving. I only use Instagram but don't post much on it lol. I think life without social media is better you can go focus more on life and not focused on what people are posting.

Good luck! Social media is basically a freaking slot machine! All you do is just scrolling and attention seeking which are meaningless & boring

I've deleted Facebook a bunch of times and have playred around with different ways of using it. I now only have it because I run pages for work, but that's still too much for me. Nice work.

That was my last post before quitting social media when I did it in 31/12/2021
( As sweet as the beginnings can be, the key is in the conclusion!
Social media is a tool created in a way that makes us more addictive and there is researches that shows it!
I have been using social media since 2012 and during those years I had ups and downs and thoughts about let go everything and move on, I realized that When you spend a lot of time on social media and half that time doesn't pay off, you are wasting your life.
Bottom line is "I'm sick of this bullshit".
Peace . )
Sorry for the long comment and by the way I am happy for you dude !

i just discovered your channel, I loved it!
and about this social media stuff, this is a great idea. it is very distracting and interrupts you to be present.
people often forget how to live, you're doing a great job!

I left everything except instagram years ago and realized that the most toxic one for my mental health was actually Instagram. I left 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back 🙌

It can be a great tool, but for me, I was no longer utilizing it productivity. I no longer had a real reason to keep it. I did keep my Facebook active (because the pictures and videos on it are mostly from high school and I don't have those laptops anymore.) But I don't have a single social media app on my phone. I don't count YouTube because I've never used YouTube to mindlessly watch - I use it to learn things.

Thank you for sharing! I am so glad to know I'm not alone. I'm 29 and I have been using social media since I was 13 - it's time to take my life back.

Why no one is talking about youtube. It is also addictive.

I have only deactivated my Facebook account. In a certain way, it's nice not relying on it as a social output. Less stress the better right?! Here, here! Haha

What about YouTube? Have you thought about quitting this?
For me, YouTube is the most addictive out of all the social media. There’s something different about it

Dad, leaving SM...except youtube? Isn't youtube SM since it has a place to type back a message? not quite the same perhaps.

I deleted my FB "account" 9 years ago...on "account" that, that way, I wouldn't piz off & lose ALL my friends..

I like to read and comment(make sarcastic remarks) on news sites. It is a little different in that I don't know who I'm talking to but it has become a HUGE waste of time. sigh...

Social media is a good thing if you use it in a good way, but it's not for me. 8 years ago I witnessed guys laughing to girl pictures we all knew, and by the way she was really ugly in a picture, but the comment section was full of compliments. She had 200 likes...
People often get likes as a return favour, or as an act of charity. It boosts people confidence, but it also makes people full of themselves. Most people are not good looking, most people are not smart, most people are not good, but in social media everyone is the opposite of that. I am off social media for 5 years, and I don't miss it at all. After deleting I felt more present in real world.
