Biggest lesson i've learnt in 2024 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and follow a strategy with a long term edge.

I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

I am trying to avoid making any new buys at this point in other not to get sucked into a bear market trap. It's tough making money in stocks when institutional investors are the driving force behind the selling.. although I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

The S&P 500 moved 8.9% higher last Month, achieving one of its best monthly performances in history.. which is an indicator for profits to continue to improve. I just want my money to keep outgrowing the inflation rate. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $500K portfolio, to boost performance.

I just want my money to keep outgrowing the inflation rate. That’s why I'm looking for companies now to invest my $120k savings. Just don't know strategies to employ to make significant gains

I foresee a recession lasting 2-3 years, and if inflation continues to surge, the Federal Reserve will likely raise interest rates soon. Inflation is causing various issues worldwide, such as food shortages, scarcities of diesel and heating fuel, and significant spikes in housing prices, leading to a potential financial market crash. This global downturn could have long-lasting repercussions. Given the current inflation rate of approximately 9%, my main worry is how to optimize my savings and retirement fund, which has remained stagnant at around $300, 000, yielding almost no gains for quite some time.

I want to get into the market now and ride it out until the economy improves, since inflation is currently at 3.70%. I'm assembling a $350, 000 stock and exchange-traded fund (ETF) portfolio. Are there any suggestions you have that have good cash flow?

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2024 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

Considering the current inflation indicators and the Federal Reserve's pause on rate hikes, what are the best additions to enhance the overall performance of my $500K portfolio?

if the idea is to build an income stream to use as complement for retirement, or at any given point if needed, then building a dividend growth portfolio always buying adding to it could be a good and peaceful path. On the long run consistency and perseverance could guaranty the desired income stream goal with little worries

How about the rule, "buy low and sell high", you don't buy at all-time highs - come on so called Bloomberg business reporters/analysts. What did Buffett just do with Apple stock, is he buying? (I agree with Jamie)

Love this guy, he should be president of US. His view on China is practical. However I would add China needs US to maintain the global stability, leadership and security but also needs US to respect China.

We have to continue to lead by example, the private sector has to lead from the front with the government willing to back it up and correct them when they get out of line which does happen, we’re humans and both the private and federal need check and balances so let’s make that the norm again and start growing as a planner again.
