What's happening, people! I'm back with another Erasure reaction, and this time we finish the Wild! album (1989) with the full/lyrical version of "Piano Song." And as you'll see, the song makes a notable impact on me and serves as an excellent end to the album. So join me as we conclude another Erasure record. Cheers!

I love this song. Very emotional with layers of sadness. The lyrics about growing older, still feeling that sadness, coupled with the way the world treats the narrator like a child is tremendously lonely.

The lyrics are beautiful. The vocals are beautiful. The instrumentation is beautiful. The layers of the piano are beautiful. Yeah, this song is just beautiful!!!

Yeah, I love this song. It's definitely my favourite from this album. The lyrics are so powerful and meaningful when you really break them down and the way Andy delivers them is so thought-provoking, evocative and emotional. A real gem ❤

"Never get angry at the stupid people."
In late 1994 my sister's dog got run over, a beautiful Samoyed. My family was devastated, so I was chosen to take her to the carcass disposal. I sat in the car driving through snowy landscapes, listening to an Erasure compilation tape my first bf had made for me. This song came on and I cried and cried: "What hurts me most, I'll never see your eyes again." It suddenly became so true.
Apart from that: Sadness as a song. Love every bit of it.
WILD! is quite a mixed bag, some songs never worked well for me, but this is a gem.
The photos were done by French duo Pierre et Gilles who made a lot of great art, not only with singers like Marc Almond, Boy George or Nina Hagen, but also with a lot of unknown models.

Stripped back sounds and just a piano set a very sombre mood. It is very similar to Winter Kills in that sense (although Vince did add some synth sounds to that one. You mentioned 2 producers. From what I read, Gareth Jones only worked with Andy Bell and Vince worked with the other one purely on the synths.

A very poignant song. Leaves you with a sense of melancholy at the end of the album.
