What's up, people! I'm back with another Erasure reaction, and this time we listen to another song from their 1994 album I Say I Say I Say. And as you'll see, this was an interesting one for me, as the verses sounded quite familiar, yet the chorus didn't feel like I had heard it before at all. So maybe I heard part of this song on the radio in my early teens? Not sure. Either way, join me for another brilliant and moody Erasure track. Cheers!

You definitely heard this before, it's one of their most popular songs! BTW not sure if you can tell but this song is in 4/4 but they snuck in a very creative 5/4 measure just ONCE per chorus during the "harmony harmony of love". They did that to make the lyric fit with that nice pause between the "harmony, harmony" words. Now THAT is absolute songwriting gold! It would have still worked if they kept it in 4/4 for that measure but it wouldn't have the same epic feel. A++++ songwriting. Perhaps this is the most perfect song ever? 10/10

I think this song brought a whole lot of new fans that had been too young for earlier Erasure. As others have mentioned before, it was really popular. There's even a Spanish version.

I remember being pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this when it was released. The gap between Chorus and this album was quite large, and I'd moved on in my musical journey. I'd purchased every album from Wonderland to Chorus, but hadn't really listened to much Erasure since then. Then this appeared on the radio, when I was mainly listening to Oasis, Blur, Pulp - and I remember thinking "that's great - I'm buying that"

This got to No.20 in the Billboard charts so you may well have heard it at the time. Gorgeous vocal from Andy, that chorus is sublime. Not sure if anyone has mentioned that Martyn Ware of the original Human League/Heaven 17 produced this album. He and Vince own a company that does 3D sound installations apparently - he is always mentioning it in his podcast Electronically Yours, which is well worth checking out.

It took me a long time to realize this version of the song existed. The version my local radio station in Dallas played was always a faster remix version.

For me Chorus, I say I say I say and Erasure are the best 3 albums, the last of the three is my favorite, perfection ❤

I think the video for this is the first time that Vince just refused to appear, so there is a 5 second shot of a cardboard cut out of him. The video is very cinematic though and you should check it out.
