I’ve got a 1year old female American Akita. It’s the first Akita I’ve had, and I’ve got to say that I couldn’t imagine a better dog. She is quiet, well behaved, learns quickly, and listens well. She is the friendliest dog, to people and other animals alike, unless she feels the need to protect me or my home. Her intelligence, however, can make her a bit stubborn at times, and every two/three months she has a severe shedding cycle, but none the less, Akitas(American) are definitely the king of canine companions in my opinion.

Every time I watch something about dogs, I always think about Akita. My Akita passed for all most a year now but I still love her. When she was born, she was born with a weak and bad heart. The night before she passed l, she was tired and laying down in the cage with the door open. The next morning, I came home to nothing, she had passed away. I hope you enjoy Heaven.❤🕊

I have a seven month old American Akita and he's the sweetest and smartest dog I've ever owned. He's a great guard dog for my kids, but is also gentle with them as well as my nieces and nephews. He does know how to open our front and back door if not locked and can open chain link gates if not locked.
