My Toyota dealer wanted about $825 to change the water pump on my Toyota. I found an ex-Toyota mechanic he only charged me $150 if I bought the part. The new water pump only cost about $125. So I have a new water pump for $275.

If you vehicle is not under warranty, the dealer is the last place to go for car repair.

$335.00 total for parts at the popular on-line parts store "R-O', Injectors are $51.00 each, o-ring kit is $11.00, and a new fuel rail assembly is $120.00. Total; $335.00. Spend a Saturday afternoon putting these new parts on, and you're good to go another 200, 000 miles.

This is the part that pisses me off. They don't want you to have a car that you can own and maintain. They want to have you pay regularly for a vehicle.

if you smell gas but dont see anything. Always look under the car at the fuel tank then follow the fuel lines under the car up to the motor. Small leaks will evaporate before dripping on the ground. Then look at the fuel lines at the motor. Those black plastic fuel lines actually rot and start cracking from the engine heat.

Scotty's laughter and positive mood is infectious. Such a good wholesome guy! He has helped me for sure and thousands of others. I just had to laugh out loud when he went "Boiiinnggg" after letting go of the air freshener. LOL!

So well maintained, GM had a potentially 300, 000 mile car if it were not for the plastic garbage & unneeded technology.
How can manufacturers be so blind? As the Toyoda family had demonstrated, build it well 1st & the sales will follow.
New cars just stink. I hate that all the simplicity of cars has gone away.

Hello Scotty. Thanks for reviewing my 15 Impala. You are the best. Really cool person. I pray you stay safe and keep helping us all!

Back in 2014, Consumer Reports said the 2014 Impala was one of the best cars it has ever rated. I bought one, even though it was the first generation of this style. I was very happy with it, but sold it when I moved to Asia two years later. Still, no American vehicle beats the reliability of all my Astro/Safari vans.

Planned obsolesce is what most car manufactures do. $130 dollars to replace the headlight bulbs in a 2010 Malibu, because you have to take a lot of the front body parts off to get at the bulb. Same for the 3rd brake light bulb. You have to take the backseat and other things out to change a $3 dollar bulb.

The trick to relieving the pressure on GDI systems before replacing injectors is to pull the fuse to the fuel pump while the car is running. When the engine dies in a few seconds the pressure is gone.

Be cheaper to fix it than buy a new or used car today lol.

The reason why Scotty is a genius is too fold. Number one he has experience and knowledge From decades of working on and being in and around cars. The 2nd reason is Scotty is a brutally honest guy and is one who communicates with Integrity. It's a very rare combination. Great job Scotty and keep making these fine you tube videos!!!😊

My family had a 2008 Pontiac Wave and same story. A leak in the engine that would cost a fortune to fix. GM have planned obsolescence like Scotty says. Like how can car manufacturers get away with this. People should start suing them and governments should better regulate this.

My uncle used to know Harley Earl before he worked for GM. Haven't bought a GM car since the '70s and never will again!

Just buy the parts and put aside a weekend to fix yourself. Did that with the timing belt and water pump on my 97 Celica. Took me twice as long as book labor but saved a ton of money.

I never knew there was a dye for gasoline leaks. When it's a GM, I usually just wipe it down with a match until I find the leak. 😂😂
