I love Dr. Bergsma!
He is a great, reliable source for understanding the Bible.
What I love the most is his true love, and emotion for what he is teaching.
He makes me want to know the Bible better! 🌷

I love how Catholics are creating their own channels because more people can see that Catholics don't just have good reasons for their beliefs, but are also united (katolikos, one, big, universal family).

Way to set the pace, The Cordial Catholic.

Great video! When people say they want the old time religion, they usually don’t realize that it’s Catholic!

He came to our parish many years back and I loved his talks. The cartoon caricatures simplified yet clearly put a perspective of the love story, the Catholic bible is - from Old Testament to the New.

Keith,

When Marcus Grodi retires from the Journey Home, You should take his position as the host.

You have an amazing way to dialogue with these conversion stories.

Bergsma is deep and well spoken, so that even a layperson can grasp what he is saying.

I'm a Dutch Calvinist who moved from Grand Rapids to the Upper Peninsula because Grand Rapids was too warm for me. ;)

While I'm a Calvinist, I have always rejected Q&A 80 of the Heidelberg Catechism because I believe it goes way too far, calling the Mass a condemnable idolatry. On the other hand, the whole 3rd part of the Heidelberg Catechism explains why Christians who are saved by grace must necessarily do good works. Protestant teaching, as I learned it, has never taught that we may "continue in sin that grace may abound."

As a kid growing up in the Christian Reformed Church I cringed when I heard pastors and teachers talking about Catholics as if they weren't Christians. Now when I hear Catholics criticizing Protestant teaching I dig in my heals. When it comes down to it we all believe in the same God and Savior, and if we are sincere in our faith we seek to follow him. Catholics and Protestants are brothers and sisters in the faith!

What he says about there not being any importance on discipleship after salvation is blatantly false. No Bible teaching minister has ever said go back and do all the things you did before you got saved.

No disrespect, but anyone who converts from Protestant to Roman Catholic, never were well grounded in hermeneutics to begin with, let alone exercise discernment when reading church history.

Jesus.   335
Mary.     1

Mary was so important to the apostles when they were writing their letters to the New Testament churches that she was only mentioned once after Jesus had ascended to heaven. (Acts 1:14)

Jesus on the other hand was named 335 times. Mary was clearly unimportant to the early apostles. She has no role in salvation. She was an honorable young woman from Nazareth. She obeyed God

So he became a Catholic because he couldn’t explain Ephesians 2:8-10?
