Nicole is going to provide a lot more value the weaker your units are comparatively to the enemy.
As stated in the video, Once you raise your Interknot level and fully max out characters, her benefits are going to be diminished as the Def Shred isn't going to be as impactful, though it'll still be valuable.
Thus from a resource perspective, she's perfect at the Interknot levels most players are at (30-45), and if you plan on getting Zhu Yuan, Nicole will still excel at max level.

It seems best to put Nicole on another team and let Soukaku stay on the ice team tbh. Soukaku is only going to be really good when she's with an ice team, but Nicole is going to be really good no matter where you end up playing her at. This is further backed up by the fact that you are most often going to be using 2 teams anyhow, at least for Shiyu Defense, which is the current hardest content we have. Your second team is likely to need more assistance than your first, so if you do indeed have a really good ice team, and especially a really good Soukaku, then Nicole is going to be doing a lot to lift up that second team.
As a side note, Nicole seems really good at +6 since she then passes on a team wide Crit bonus, if I am not mistaken.

Its baffling when people compared Ellen and Zhu Yuan then mention Zhu Yuan's weakness is "need to use Nicole" like using a support that can provide def shred, dmg bonus and crit rate on top of a cc, thats not a downside at all lol

If you want to actually use Soukakus Fly The Flag buff (without the need of a chain attack) on your attack character then you'd have to put Soukaku before the ATK char!
So
Why? Because Soukaku only transfers the buff to the char that swaps with her with either a quick assist or chain attack.
You can test it ingame also it's literally written in the description.
With the setup in your video you're missing out on tons of damage.

Important to note she doesn't need to hit the ex special, she can actually also apply the defense shred with her enhanced basic attacks. Which means it's viable to quickly swap to her, basic, and then immediately swap out. It's good to do when you're out of energy and can't trigger a chain.

My issue with that is that is assumed you have Lycaon, I'm using anby and I wasn't lucky enough to get any stun... So to get Ellen's passive i need Soukaku, still If you have Lycaon for sure, changing it for Nicole would be pretty interesting, faster chains, now you can proc disaster, and Nicole is flexible, she doesn't have to rely that much on unlocking the faction or element passive.

I do want to point out that almost nobody is maxing out Soukaku’s buff right now, because her buff is dependent on her own Atk, and she needs 2500 atk to reach the max 1000 atk buff. Whereas Nicole’s debuff doesn’t scale with her stats at all, only her core passive level. So Soukaku’s buff will become stronger with end game gear.

Genuine question, will this also be the case during lategame where our characters almost match the enemy levels? will Nicole's defense reduction + damage buff outclass other supports who also boost damage/atk? Also does her uptime have a huge impact on damage? She has noticably much lower uptimes than other supports, so after an enemy stun chain attack, lets say your nicole uptime lasts for 5 seconds, will that cover enough time for the dps to deal optimal amounts of damage, compared to soukaku which boosts (iirc) for 15 seconds?
