"The Indian Companion" May Allah be pleased with him.

I visited the resting place of Cheraman Perumal, later known as "Taj Uddin", may Allah be pleased with him, in Salalah Oman.

He converted from Hinduism to Islam after witnessing the moon split from his palace in Kerala, Southern India, and then travelling to Madinah to meet the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

On his way back to India, he passed away in Salalah, Oman and is buried in a tomb which is not known very well.

it's awesome, but the grave should be under ground. Sunnah says to lower graves. Sri lanka was called saylan. companions travelled there and on the way spoke to king Cherman and was told of Islam and splitting of the moon, He saw the splitting of the moon and then he went to see the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings on him in medina. left hinduism and his new name was Tajudin, he gave ginger to the Muslims. He died in Oman on the way back home and his area looks like kerala south india where he ruled!

Cheraman Jumma Masjid isn't the oldest mosque of india. It's actually 2nd oldest. The most oldest known mosque of india is barwaada masjid of bhavangar, gujrat, whose qibla is toward Masjid-ul-aqsa (Palestine), not toward Kaaba (Arabia).In addition, the 3rd oldest indian mosque is no longer in India, but in Bangladesh, which is known as "Harano Masjid". It is located in Lalmanirhat.
