Hard to believe the C130 first flew in 1955! Still going strong. It just proof that it's design has kept up with the times. I'll never forget my first time seeing a Herkybird in the Army. A short field landing on a dirt strip. Outta of the flying dirty emerges this big beast. It was downright impressive.

Been on a C-130, haven’t been on a C-17. We always said that the C stood for Can’t hear crap.

Why does every airshow world wide feel the need to play crappy music while aviation enthusiast do their best to enjoy the sounds of engines, jets and props? The aircraft are why we came to the show, not for a "B" list soundtrack.

Almost seemed like the C-17 actually stopped sooner than the C-130 by maybe 100 ft... REALLY impressive for an aircraft that's that much heavier. :)

0:57 Gotta lot a respect for 1-30 & a 17 that can Moon Walk.
The both of which have seen their share of Shiffttin Paratroopers!

Bello video. Magnificas tripulaciones. Dios los guarde siempre.

These are amazing aircraft... The C-130 is like the A-10 of air haulage.

Flew on many of these in the 80’s. One of the most memorable flights was into a remote airstrip in Honduras to pick up an Oshkosh ARFF (fire truck). After doing the weight and balance and calculating the required takeoff distance it was decided to give the locals some MRE’s in exchange for lopping off a couple tree tops at the departure end of the runway to ensure takeoff clearance. Good times!

The C-130 is an amazing aircraft for being designed in the 50's and the first flight taking place in 1954. I spent 18+ years flying this wonderful bird that is so easy to fly. I would love to have had a chance to fly the new J-model HERK with the better props.

I love C -130s! I've been inside of one before at an airshow so I have some what of a connection with them.

ITs easy to see why the c 130 has been in production for over 60 years, with its first flight in 1954. (Wikipedia)

Had the privilege of flying across the country in a C-130 from Maguire AFB, New Jersey to Travis, AFB in Calif.with a stop at Scott AFB, Ill. in the summer of 1966.They had the back hatch open all the way and it was great being able to look out that huge opening holding onto the pallets of ammo and C Rations destined for Viet Nam.It certainly is an impressive
aircraft. (Former) GySgt. G.L.Mitchell, G/2/25 4th Mar.Div.Dover, N.J

Get a Herky Bird with JATO to an airshow, that'll quite literally blow you away!

Amazing short landings. I took off in lots of these, never landed.

I don't realize that C17 runs reverse on track only by jet engines power... it seems to me it takes off a little sooner than a C130 can do !
