When i was about 11 in a Catholic school, we had a homework assignment called “ who is God to me” the basic supposition was that even adults needed a parent figure who was going to tell them the rules and tell them them that they are going to be looked after and loved; that man made up God in order to deal with fear of the unknown. I thought it was one of the best things I had ever written. I got at C-

God is not a conspiracy theory. God is reached into my life multiple times and saved my life. In a 2015 I surrendered my life to Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior and my whole character, my outlook, the ability to love people who are cruel or people who are hurting who lash out, has greatly changed for the glory of God. You're so frustrating and sad to hear people say God's a conspiracy theory or that he's not real when so many of us have experienced a hand of God in our lives and have had him speak to us in our hearts about things. James 1:16-18 tell us that everything good is from God and reminds us that God spoke creation into being. Why do you ask that God's a conspiracy theory? I guess it's a new tactic of the devil to get people to think that

It’s weird but I feel like people from impoverished countries need the idea of god to help them cope but generally, people who devote their lives to something utterly made up by man is just so ridiculous to me.

The concept of there being "Gods", seems to come from people's inherent need to explain or comprehend their existence and their humanity. This emotional need for explanations wasn't satisfied by scientific fact or scientific discovery back then, as it is now, but rather on what the limited human imagination could come up with at any particular evolutionary period in time. Before the explanatory modern sciences were developed or understood, people were forced to come up with imaginary supernatural explanations, likely in the form of primitive folklore and folktales which they handed down thru the generations, with every culture creating their own versions. People seem to have found the creation story acceptable, not having any alternative explanations to choose from at the time.
