I was born and raised in Las Vegas. Last year due to cv, we lost our jobs (hospitality is done) and moved to Ely Nevada 5b (white pine county). We have more land and grow more food. Its rough though in this environment. Your knowledge has been a priceless resource for me. I cant thank you enough. 👍

I have big dirt spot in my front yard I didn’t know what to do with because the hose is kind of too far for plants but I think I’ll plant asparagus, strawberries, and lavender. The lavender won’t need as much water and once the other plants get established, I don’t think they’ll need a lot of water. Plus the neighbor cats may keep the birds away in that part of the yard. Take wild life (or domestic life) into consideration when identifying a garden location. Neighborhood cats more easily find front yard birds.

Lol snow-covered garden here as well. Location, location, location... so important, on so many levels. "Full sun" for me in New Mexico is NOT the same thing as "full sun" for my relatives in Michigan. Thanks for another great video! 😄👍 🌻

How interesting about looking where your dogs run to when you let them outside!!! I have never considered that Scott. Great video, as always 😍

Great Video Scott. I thought about the idea of growing bananas in Montana and I think it might actually be possible as well as in colorado! Midwest Gardener, a youtuber who lives in zone 6b grows ornamental banana plants on his channel and he told me the Musa Basjoo variety are actually hardy down to zone 5!

There is actually a guy who successfully and profitably grows Bananas in the Bitterroot Valley. So, I guess there's always an exception.

Isn't it a wonder how many factors play into growing things? Great advice. I am working on growing elderberries and have made some mistakes already. Learning process never ends.

I have never heard of Montana Banana before. I had to watch this video and find out what you were talking about. As always, great advice. I am still in the planning stages, looking out the window at the snow covered ground, imagining what could be...
