Thank you! I’ve heard this before but only “not all peppers can be topped” so thank you for explaining!

Thank you! I wish I could save these shorts as you can with regular videos.

Thank you! I know this but few videos film the in-between. I usually see planting/harvesting. Bravo!! A true teacher! Thank you so much!!!

I'm so glad I saw this short because I was going to top all my peppers this weekend. And I have poblanos, too. Thank you!

The studies have been done and while you get more peppers from topped/bushed out plants, they are smaller so you get the same weight yield as un-pruned plants.

This is the perfect short. Thanks Jacques!

Topping works well when needing to stop it from growing vertically and it will absolutely cause it to bush but topping a chile plant will ALWAYS set out back a letting a chile plant grow as it should naturally will always allow it to produce more pods.

Good to know. A lot ot other videos didn't teach the difference. It's my second year trying to grow peppers and chillis.
It's a very diffiult plant from what I learned until now. Last year I only got a few really tiny peppers that didn't fully ripen. Let's hope it's better this year

Topping and fimming peppers has been debunked in many of the pepper communities. It was a trend that came from indoor pot growers. In fact topping or fimming is worse for peppers as it sets them back a few weeks. Just simply pull the flower pods until your plant is as bushy or tall as you want it

I've read that bell peppers growing off the main stems grow bigger than bells growing off the lateral stems. Another reason I wouldn't want to encourage bushy growth on pepper plants that grow bigger fruit!

Can you post about peppers that start flowers before they get put in their final spot for the season. If by chance you might of been too eager to start your seeds this year... Love the content and garden dude thanks for the share.

HaHa! Momma B found you! 🤨 Hmm, 🤔 should I have topped my 7' tall pepper plants earlier this year? 😁 No, I make all of my production peppers into pole peppers, rather than bushes. If I want an eye pleasing plant, rather than a ton of large peppers, I don't prune anything except early blossoms, and I clear the bottom 4" to 5" of the stem.! I just let them grow how they grow. So beautiful, and eventually you get a ton of miniature peppers too. Yes, I do grow peppers just for looks. Dont judge me.

I also top peppers, especially smaller ones. They’re bushier and don’t break from the weight of all the peppers. Any fruit with larger fruit, I really don’t trim. They tend to need those leaves to help fuel growth of larger fruits.

Whooops, I topped all mine, big and small 😢😢

I don’t prune at all here in New England. We can’t afford the set back of recovery time.

I don’t top mine. It delays the production by a month. Mine bush out on their own. I’ll never top mine again. Got nothing that first year. I get more just letting them branch out on their own.

I have had a few bunnies assist in the topping process.

Thanks for the tip! May I know what age were those plants?
