Dear Dr. Snyder: What a deep relief it has been to hear you speaking about MCAS!! After over 10 years of researching, I've never truly discovered what the heck has been wrong with me!! My own symptoms have been so intense, variable, progressively worsened, and so poorly understood, that oh, my poor brain! I cannot tell you how many hours i have searched through conditions, and then one by one, ruled them out. Nothing hit all the notes when taken as a whole. But, YOU have hit it for me today in 37 minutes!!! Every point resonated. Every symptom has been experienced. (I'd have to add vision problems, in my case.)

EMS has been my primary sensitivity. There is likely mold in my home, too.
As for my past trauma/psychological state, I was put up for adoption the moment I was born, and after 8 months, adopted by a good family, but I have never been able to shake the trauma of knowing I was not wanted at birth by a married couple who already had two other children. Early attachment disruption, yes. Anxiety/panic disorder since I was a kid.
I do not see physicians, or take medication. I merely try to bear it, dear Doctor - but from this day, I will have AT THE LEAST, some clarity on WHAT has been happening to me, and that means SO very much, and I am TRULY grateful to you for that.

BTW- I subscribed to your channel a few months ago, but your videos do not come up on my sub feed for some reason. It may be a problem on my end. (?)
I do see you are on other forums. Good. I hope that your audience grows to include views, not only by people who are dealing with MCAS, but by those who care for them, and wouldn't it be wonderful for other physicians who never even consider mast cell activation connected with brain and body inflammation and the resulting symptoms affecting almost (I read) 17% of the population!! People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

MCAS does not really cause bloating. Bloating is almost always due to gas in the GI tract, which can only be caused by micro-organisms or aerophagia, of which the latter is rare and overdiagnosed. So bloating is rather a microbial GI-symptom due to SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), IMO (Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth), SIFO (Small Intestinal Fungal Overgrowth), or any type of colonic dysbiosis. SIBO in particular is a major cause of immune agitation due to the immunomodulatory role of the small intestine. So if anyone with MCAS suffers from bloating, it’s is possible that the GI disorder lies at the root of it. So it would be associated with MCAS, but not necessarily a symptom, just like how you explained that all those symptoms of MCAS are associated with, but not necessarily a symptom of anxiety.

Other than that, great episode!

Can I ask you a question regarding the chronic anxiety? - have you seen people develop MCAS due to chronic anxiety via the corticotropin releasing hormone-mast cell connection alone; and cure/get rid of MCAS just by working on this anxiety? Do you ever see it going into

Interesting but way too many interruptions while trying to concentrate. 6 in total
