When Darth Sidious travelled to Dathomir, as he searched for an apprentice, he thought about making Talzin his apprentice, and wanted to combine the power of the dark side, with the magick of the Nightsisters. But the Sith Lord was drawn by Talzin’s son Maul, who had wrestled with his anger in the caves of Dathomir, and the intensity of his hate and lack of control, made him a perfect student. When Sidious first saw Maul, the Zabrak ran to the forest, and Sidious knew he could use his anger, from the way Dathomir had made the Nightsisters stronger than him, to how he had been cast aside until Sidious arrived, and now the way Sidious abused him. That would be a cool what if, what if sidious took talzin as an apprentice and they became a darkside power couple. Maybe he still takes on other apprentices, like maul, dooku and vader (but in this timeline vader is healed by the nightsister magic. Maybe grievous is also enhanced by their magic as well.
