1965....#1 U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #1 U.S. Cash Box Top 100, #1 UK, #2 Canada
Original video edited and AI remastered with HQ studio sound.
"Mr. Tambourine Man" was the debut single by the American band the Byrds, and was released on April 12, 1965 by Columbia Records. The song was also the title track of the band's debut album Mr. Tambourine Man, which was released on June 21, 1965. The Byrds' version is abridged and in a different key from Dylan's original.
The single's success initiated the folk rock boom of 1965 and 1966, with a number of American and British acts imitating the band's hybrid of a rock beat, jangly guitar playing, and poetic or socially conscious lyrics. The single was the "first folk rock smash hit", and gave rise to the term "folk rock" in the U.S music press to describe the band's sound.

Beyond classic, for sure! That ringing twelve string Rickenbacker of Roger McGuinn is just awesome. Love the song and seeing the video is such a treat. Thanks so much for this!

Nice treatment of this legendary Byrds version of Dylan's song -- and it sounds good! I had the 45, but years later when I played the LP track on a very good stereo I was completely UNDERwhelmed. Never thought the sonics could be so mediocre. So much for the "great" Terry Melcher, and the "Columbia sound." I always wished that the Byrds would have made more music like this. Instead, the band fractured and did stuff like "Sweetheart of the Rodeo, " which was completely different. Sad.

This is so cool.Never have seen this performance before in Canada but I am betting it's the same set the 'Lovin Spoonful' performed 'you didn't have to be so nice' on.👍😊
