June 2018 Update: Visible has changed their policy to include unlimited hotspot use, but for one device connected only. They state this is part of their pre-release, and the policy could change.

A new Verizon plan has been making its way across the interwebs this week, and we've been fielding a number of questions about our thoughts on it.

This new app based $40/month phone plan runs on Verizon service and offers customers unlimited calling, text, and slowed data on their mobile phone devices.

Data speeds are always capped at 5mbps, and all data usage is always subject to network management. Video is reduced to 420p resolution as well (DVD quality).

But the catch for many viewers of this channel is - no mobile hotspot option.

Hey "person who thumb'd this video down"... why don't you take some responsibility and make a comment here about why you gave it that thumbs down? - Whether or not this information applies to you as a working option is irrelevant. This was an accurate reporting of information and will no doubt help some people. - It just seems irresponsible to give this a negative review without explaining why.

Though speeds are capped at 5mbps, the data is not throttled. It’s truly unlimited. I used an invite code, and am going to try out their service. I used Total Witekess, and it was hit or miss. Some days great, others horrible.

Ditched Verizon last week for AT&T Prepaid. $40 a month for Unlimited Talk & Text and 8GB of Data with Autopay. Much stronger service where I’ve been lately. Also saved $20 a month and got 3 extra gigs of Data with AT&T.

I just asked the chat rep at Visible if you can use the iPhone to tether/hotspot to a laptop and was told yes. When I challenged her, she indicated that connecting to one other device with the iPhone is possible, but you cannot use a separate device like a Jetpack as a hotspot. A fellow on another channel who has been covering Visible and Net Buddy has confirmed this just today. I know that things can change, but if I can use the iPhone to connect my laptop, I'm all over Visible. Have you any new intel on this?

Hi, do you think that the Unlimited Plus Enhanced plan from AT&T y not subject to network management at all? At any time? Of course, before hitting the cap of 22Gb. Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I looked at the website FAQ’s but I couldn’t find if WIFI calling is available on Visible. Do you know if it is?

They say this in the FAQ: Does Visible service include using my phone as a hotspot?

During early access our members will get mobile hotspot with unlimited data at a speed that’s perfect for streaming, up to 5 Mbps. You’ll be able to connect one device at a time. To enable/disable hotspot, take a look at Apple’s Support page.

So, which is correct, you guys said no hotspot, but their site says otherwise, ???
