It's time for my typical "First Drive" of the 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance. I talk about the experiences I've had with the car and what I think about the car after owning it for a couple weeks now. Overall I'm pretty happy with the car and cannot wait to start digging into it by doing a detail series on it and to start modifying it like the rest of my cars (Making it "OG Spec"). I might call all of you Tesla guys nerds but it's tongue in cheek.. I guess I'm one of those nerds now myself because I love this car for the technology it has! Now I just need to make it look good!

Matt low key falling in love with this car

The beginning your video is the number one reason I bought the car for commuting. The one pedal driving, the ability to absolutely precisely meter your speed, and the ability to just take that gap in traffic NOW makes it the ultimate daily driver, errand runner. It really takes the stress off.

It also makes me appreciate my 997 Turbo even more. It makes me appreciate the little things like warming up the engine, listening to the exhaust change with even small throttle inputs, hearing the turbos spool, etc. . Even though the Tesla is quick, the Turbo is FAST. They are a great compliment to one another.

He is trying very hard to not love the car. So funny. You can add after market exhaust sound if you really want and it comes in every make you want. Perhaps that will make you feel more manly. LOL

“I’m way too cool to enjoy a car like this, but I begrudgingly love it.”

You seem very defensive on why you bought it. It’s a great daily. There really isn’t much better. Congratulations!

Seems like he's trying like hell to not fall in love but slowly losing the battle.

Never been one to care about teslas but I'm very excited to see what you think about this car. In my eyes you're a "real" car enthusiast so I'm looking forward to your opinions.

I would love to see you doing a Test drive in the Porsche Taycan and comparing it to the Tesla

Matt: "Sure, the drive of the Tesla 3 is so so, but this interior is amazing!"

Rest of the word: "Sure, the interior of the Tesla 3 is so so, but the drive is amazing!"

I’ve owned BMW and Mercedes for 3 decades and recently picked up a 2021 3LR AWD. It’s completely brilliant and the best car value in the world considering performance, technology, and not paying for gas.

Pro Tip: Autopilot recognizes your wheel touch best by tugging the wheel in one direction, instead of the wiggle.

I’m surprised you didn’t turn on “Track Mode”. One of the features while, in Track Mode, is the ability to change the power output between the front and the rear. You can put 100% of the power/torque to the rear making it rear wheel drive.

They're great daily drivers. I commute 100 miles a day in mine, wouldn't change it for anything. Autopilot is a beast for long drives in traffic.

Matt, it genuinely makes me happy seeing your excitement for this car because it means so much more to you than even the most fanatic Tesla fan. I spend every video rooting for you to overcome vasovagal syncope. Hopefully this car brings you miles and miles of freedom, we are all rooting for you!

Tesla nerd here. I found your channel while researching the best ways to take care of it. I binge watched your channel and bought one of your pressure washing solutions, so really looking forward to your Tesla series.

I’ve owned BMW M4, Hellcat charger, and Camaro ZL1. Currently waiting on my Tesla model 3 Performance. I did test drive one for about 30 minutes so I do have some sort of idea of how it feels. Overall I was impressed for what it is. Saving about $5000 a year on gas too here in California.

Bought the same car three months ago. The first thing I noticed was the body roll into bends. Oh dear. Couple of sway bars transformed the thing. Stock brakes also end up getting a little scary on mountain runs. But as a freeway car, I don't thing anything beats it. The ability to modulate your speed behind your typical freeway driver speeding up and slowing down all the time, means you're not constantly switching from the accelerator to the brake all the time which makes it much less fatiguing on long hauls in lots of traffic. Plus the immediate torque means you get pick slots you normally wouldn't bother with in any other car.
