The experiment worked. BMW’s attempt to separate the 4 Series range from the 3 Series by, well, calling it the 4 Series, has been successful enough to warrant a second generation.
The 2021 BMW 4 Series is still largely 3 Series based, but since every BMW from the 3 Series up uses a modular architecture, you could argue that every car in the range is based on a 3 Series.

Thank you for the video. Still thinking about switching the color before it goes into production so I was looking for a comparison between Dravit Gray and Arctic Race Blue.

Since I like coupes more than sedans, I really like the BMW 4 Series, along with the 1 Series, it'd be my pick in the range. It kinda sucks that the 4 Series has the BMW 328 inspired large grille. While I reserve the word "ugly" for a few cars, it's not very nice looking. With that said, i'd still happily take an M4 though, especially considering the M4 gets a manual, and none of the normal 4 Series trims get a manual.
