HOW TO build the 1/72 AIRFIX Supermarine Spitfire MKIa FULL COMMENTARY-BRUSH PAINTED

Full build sped up to show the whole process of making this kit from Airfix. Improved original video with commentary and other items. No airbrush required, as I hand-painted the whole model.

Although more well known for it's role in the Battle of Britain, this Spitfire features an unusual underside of white and black wings before they were changed to the sky. This particular plane represents that of John Gillies. He was shot down during a patrol to Dunkirk on May 23, 1940. He would remain a POW until the end of the war.

Really cool build. I just built this exact same kit a couple of weeks ago. I wish I had found your channel before then. LOL. Much respect for brush painting the model. I used an airbrush for the first time. Before that I would use rattle can spray paint. I sanded the back side of the canopy so it would fit into the fuselage. As a matter of fact, one I had snapped it into place, I couldn’t get it out, so I left it unglued as is. Is it 100% sealed? No, but good enough. Keep up the good work.

Something I’ve noticed with all the Spitfire build videos is no on ever opens up the shell ejection ports that get covered up by the bottom roundel. I didn’t bother either.
