Every year North Devon Model Society hosts a "just for fun" competition with a provided figure or kit, this year we all built WW1 1/72 aircraft. This was my entry.

💯 Your model looks beautiful! What's particularly impressive is how you've skillfully applied fundamental techniques to get the most out of a simple kit. The most fascinating aspect is that you've demonstrated it's not necessary to load a model with tons of aftermarket parts in our hobby. This is modeling at its finest—congratulations!

A wonderful build. So much exquisite detail in such a small model.

What a great build, James! It's unbelievable that this is in 1/72 scale. 👌You make it all look so easy. Once again, like all your builds, it's a great tutorial.

Absolutely fantastic result! WWI planes always scare me, but your techniques and video editing make it look much more approachable. Looks amazing!

Great video build! Very well done. The old Toko 1 1/2 Strutter is one of my favorite kits of one of my favorite warbirds. Thanks again.

It’s not good. It is freaking GREAT! 😆 Bi-plane rigging in any scale scares me but I’m going to take the plunge. Builds like yours are the inspiration and kick in the pants I need. Much thanks. 😊

Excellent job, outcome of your labour is sensational and, for such a small scale! Nothing more needed on this kit....the result says it all.

Surprising how large this aircraft was- and how large it is in 1/72. Love the way you detail your weathering technique!

Looks pretty good to me James, excellent result from an old limited run kit - only thing I would have done differently is made it British....!! 😊Nice to see a good Youtube video on something other than the newest super kit - it's inspired me to get back to my stalled Airfix 1/72 Brisfit! Keith

Nice build! I like the frame effect with the PC12. Thanks for taking the time to document your build for us. These Toko/Roden/Eastern 1/72 WWI models are quite charming and reasonably priced compared to Eduard. (Eduard 1/72 WWI are such a pleasure to build though...) I bought a stack of these little Tokos from a buddy downsizing a couple of years ago and have yet to build any. The 45 degree crosshatch fabric surfaces are a bit pronounced. After seeing this build I plan to use high build surfacer and sand a bit to get rid of that texture.

Good Friday afternoon…
From OHIO 🇺🇸
I’ve rigged a couple of aircraft
1/72 Spad and 1/144 Japanese seaplane…
Tough going for sure…
BUT, the final results are VERY MUCH WORTH IT…
I am a subscriber, I’ve learned a lot from watching your channel…
Would like to try making stencils for markings…
I’ll probably watch this again….
