I’ve only ever used a cash account with TDAmeritrade, and I love it. Way better for a beginner trader who just wants to take small positions and focus on process over profits

Wish I had saw this in 2020 I blew my margin doing everything WRONG. Overtrading, holding bad positions, now I'll stay with cash

De" Angelo is right. I trade OPTIONS IN MY CASH account, if you trade the weekly options its really inexpensive. I'm in and out, go through all my money and it settles the NEXT DAY, stocks take 2 days to settle. SUCKS! OPTIONS IS THE WAY TO GO. It moves quick. Go Long, buy "CALLs", go short, buy "puts". I trade so much with a small account. Base hits all day long, risking $100 bucks and in the next ten minutes cashing out with $250. And I must be in and out of 20 trades in 2 hours. Also, I am under $10, 000 in my acct. and with td.

Really like your vids, and on one of them you mentioned that you like longer time frames to swing trade, and that is also my style as well since I can't analyze the markets fast enough in real time. I was wondering how do you pick and scan for such stocks?. What do you look for when entering? do you short or go long as well?..I'm going to stick to going long only till I built my account some.

I hope one day I’ll be on your show dude.
Also let’s says you buy a stock with the 1 k in your 5k account could you sell before the settlement? And also is the settlement always 2 days. So as I understand after watching the settlement is just a timeout of some of your money. The settlement is just for protection of the money.

why does money not have to settle in a margin account? Is it because the margin money instantly replaces the cash that you used to sell? I thought money has to settle for 2 days either way because it is government law. Don't know why margin accounts are different though unless they are indeed replacing the money that you have used with the margin's balance. But then again, that would not add up because you can hypothetically trade infinitely in one day with a margin account but a margin balance is limited so it can't be the margin balance that is replacing your used cash for trades. This is so confusing.

I just funded my cash account and made a profit one hour after funding it ;) maybe my long game isn't as trash as I imagined. Bought YJ today when it went from red to green, risking low of day ;)
