Definitely going to get these on discount and use them for light workouts/shooting drills. I have a feeling that Jordan Brand used a lot of their R&D money for the 40, and this shoe is just the test mule for the tech (ZoomX/Zoom).

As a 40 year old white guy that wears boots or sandals, the Jordan 39 might be the first pair of Jordan's I'd buy for myself. They seem like a Jordan dad shoe.

Shoe is comfortable.. doesn't need a shank plate with all that cushioning. Just need to stabilize outer edge of heels. Do have to go down .5 in size. Size 11 2E wide but I needed to order a 10.5 instead. I would give this shoe a 10 if Jordan Brand before releasing the next set stabilize the heel.

* update it does need a shank- foot gets tired underneath that mid bridge of foot. And needs to raise cushioning around the back of heel, so the outer rim plastic doesn't hit / touch heels

Those of us that grew up with Jordan, can't take the ferrari ride any more. We need the cadillac of basketball shoes. They should be heated/cooled, massage rollers, softest thing money can buy. Going to the rim is the easy, but coming back to earth hurts.

Please review and disect, new balance made in Asia and new balance made in the US. I would love to know is their a difference between the 2 and where they are made.
Also, Nike airforce 1s seem to vary in leather quality on different styles, some better than others. A comparison in these would be good. 👍

A drop in Zoom air midsole might give it the responsiveness and keep the squish of the zoom x foam.

Hahah I am 39, this jordans are great for me.. and yes, I drive a mini van...its all about knowing your target audience. Younger generations are about the AEs, the Melo Balls, etc... Jordan's are for us old heads

Man i absolutely love these. Im a bodybuilder though, but i wear nothing just Air Jordans. I want a pair for training so bad but $200 is a heafty ass price for these.

The Air Jordan 29, which was the shoe that was used during the design process for the Air Jordan 39, is leaps and bounds better.

I played in both shoes, and a shank plate makes a huge difference. I had to work twice as hard in the 39’s since the zoom x does get too soft. However the 39’s do get better with each wear whereas the 29’s instantly break in right out the box

I feel like that’s what my air forces are doing bottoming out I’ve had them for awhile and ware them to work and the rubber cup sole is softer now feels like they put that kind of foam sole on the shoe now

I don't know what you guys saying, but this shoes works perfectly for me. For someone who is suffering from shin splints, this works wonder. Stability is an issue if you have melo's ankle. 😅

It would be great to see a video addressing the price of these shoes and others as a function of the pay scale received by the people making them.
