I always appreciate these monthly reminders, Jacqueline, and you do them a bit early so we can go out and prepare! btw, thanks to your, I got a roma tomato, a cherry tomato, a basil and parsley, and a pepper plant, put them in pots on my pool deck, and they've been great....LOVE making homemade tomato sauce from thing I grew myself....THANK YOU!

Made my first ever tomato sauce with all ingredients fresh from my garden last year. It was a very small batch - I'm a relatively new gardener. It was soooo delicious It quadrupled my roma tomato and pepper seeds this year.

I grew peppers from seeds from the mini sweet peppers from Aldi in NE FL and they did great! High germination, quick growth and prolific! And so cute and fast to grow since they’re minis.

I planted lovage for the black swallow tail butterflies and it super loves it here in southwest Florida -- eight feet tall with beautiful Queen Ann Lace looking flowers. The swallow tails use it as a host plant.

I’m up in Florida’s Great Northwest aka, The Western Gate to the Sunshine State aka, LA, aka, Lower Alabama, otherwise known as Pensacola, not too far from the beach. Depending on which Ag Zone you look at, I’m in Zone 9A or 9B. Escambia County is so big, that up in the north end of the county, they are in Zone 8, a full Ag Zone less than me down in the south end of the county. I have some peppers that I started about a month ago. I plan to try to over-winter them. I’ve never done that, so we’ll see. Right now, my garden is full of okra and cowpeas. I decided a couple of years ago, to quit fighting the heat and humidity, by trying to keep my tomatoes and cucumbers going through July when the temps were hitting 98 — 100. Now I just pull them all and plant okra and cowpeas, and wait for cooler temps. It’s still pretty hot here at the end of August with temps in the low 90s, but I’ve got brassicas and onions started. The seed trays have to be kept in the shade or the heat will cook them. Fall is my favorite time to garden. I’m looking forward to getting my lettuce and peas going in a couple of weeks. Still a little too hot for them right now.

I discovered Belstar broccoli a couple of years ago and they’re now my favorite for inland NE FL. Black Krim tomatoes are my go-to tomato. Our shishito and baby honey bell peppers are coming back after the hottest part of summer is passing. Jalapeños are still going strong. Love butter crunch lettuce here. Going to check out your planner. 😊

I tracked down a package of 4th of July tomato seeds (Home Depot) because you always speak so highly of them. They were the first tomato seed variety to germinate, and they look great as seedlings. I need to get them in the ground soon! I have pre-ordered my bare root strawberries. Locally, in Lake County Central Florida, Brilliance is the recommended variety. I have a ton of cover crops that will need to be dealt with before I can get my garden set up for Fall. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the effort to release September before September so we can be on time and not behind.

I added goldenrod to my garden on your suggestion in hopes to attract more pollinators and let me tell you, lord they brought the bees and butterflies. Will be adding more in the future, though in my central east coast Florida area they are hard to find.

Another great video. The virtual consultation is so worth the money if anyone is considering doing that. Lots of specific information for your garden at a very reasonable price. Thank you!
