I remember at Ludwigs chess boxing event there was a forced mate in 2 on the board for Dina Belenkaya who is (while of course nowhere near the level of magnus) still a strong WGM.
During the boxing part commentators were saying things like "oh maybe she is so exhausted, she won't see the mate in 2"

... People just don't understand how the brain works when you're good at chess. Magnus could be laying on his deathbed and would still calculate better lines and have a better positional understanding than 99.99% of humans.
(maybe at that point there would be like 3 or 4 players in the world slightly stronger than him, but thats it)

yeah I think lower rated players (like sub-1400/1500) often don't understand the skill gap in chess.
Magnus would have to be more than blackout drunk to play like an IM probably.
and levy would have to be more than blackout drunk to play like me.
remember, the skill difference between a 700 and a 1200 is the same as between a 2300 and a 2800.
So think about how drunk you'd have to be to play 500 elo lower. It's the same for magnus
