This is like an episode of Ben Heck only without the horribly awkward attempts at humor and element14 ads. I'd like to see some more projects like this, pretty cool!

Woohoo... the "BodgeWatch IR".  Where's the kickstarter page Dave? :-)

I really enjoy this kind of thing: taking stuff apart, and making cool new stuff with that. Cool to see Dave 2 in action, and nice little trick with the ribbon cable.

Dave if you print all the pieces at the same time it takes longer then printing them separately due to the travel moves required, also your more likely to have warping the farther you are from the center of the build platform.

Fun stuff coming @ the EEvlog! Good to see Dave trying out new creative ideas for the channel. Dave, keep throwing me stuff at us, something is bound to stick.

I could see this being incredibly helpful for Fire departments. A small, wristwatch IR sensor camera they can use to spot people in the smoke.

Thanks for the great fixing Idea with the Flat Flex! Helped me out with a broken Flat Flex in a Laptop. I've done it with a high grade Sandpaper.

Pretty sure Mikeselectricstuff was actually the first to make a thermal imaging watch, if you go watch his lepton videos!

Nice concept and a first draft.
I think this can be big with a little R'n'D.
The Black photo switch could do with some support behind it as slightly too much pressure would soon break it off.  A little 'hot snot' behind it or hot melt glue.
Hope to see a progress video sometime.
Way to go D1 and D2

I really like it! I'd love to see you (guys) do more diy things yourself, like that calculator watch for example you made before. It gives a nice extra diy flavour to the channel!

Man I watched all of your Makerbot build videos, and I was really disappointed when it turned out to be a massive failure.  I am so glad to see it actually being used, pretty cool technology, especially since you began (attempting) to print so early in the game!

Always interesting to see the difference in expectations of print quality for someone like me who works with 3d printers daily (different brand though). To me, this would be considered pretty crap as far as print quality goes. But then again, I don't know the settings used so it might not be fair to judge it.

Does the "photo" uswitch works? I think mounted like that is shorted by pcb trace.

I was noticing that at about 7:40, or abouts, I could extrapolate your index fingerprint... just saying HD might not be good for everything...
