If Luke Skywalker failed to destroy the Death Star, Grand Moff Tarkin would capture a fleeing Princess Leia. She would be trained in the Force by Darth Vader and conditioned to join the Imperial Senate by Darth Sidious. On Dagobah, Luke would remain with Yoda for five years, completing his Jedi training, unaware of Leia’s fate. Han Solo’s arrival with news of Leia’s role within the Empire would prompt Yoda to reveal to Luke the identities of his father and sister. The three would then depart for Coruscant. Yoda’s plan is simple: infiltrate the Death Star while Luke and Han rescue Leia. Using Jedi mind tricks, Yoda would reach Grand Moff Tarkin and compel the Imperial officer to turn the superweapon on the Imperial Navy. After Vader assisted his children in escaping, Yoda would announce to Palpatine that he would soon arrive on Coruscant. Moments later, the Jedi Master would bring the Death Star crashing down, ending the Emperor’s reign.
