I think Lucas' inspiration for the second iteration Jedi Starfighter was those old 20's 30's race cars that were literally just a canopy with a hole for the driver to sit. They were not built for comfort. Not that modern racecars are, but they were just death traps. They had no roll bars most of the time, so if the driver flipped, they'd just get cut in half. They were purely built for speed. The drivers had to wrestle with the car and had to be the best of the best to survive. Like Jedi, who need superhuman reflexes to survive.

I love the idea that one of the first things Anakin did as a newly crowned Sith Lord was steal Yoda's car.

The ship really was too big to be Yoda's but Yoda's normal ship might have been a bit overpowered with how small it was and potentially being hard to hit.

At start of episode III, when Anakin dodges the homing missiles it shows the top window angle where most average height pilots can see. Far more visible than the lowered Tie window in game.

I don't really see why the models blocking the first person view would even be an actual problem. They likely would just make it not render their model when you're in first person so you don't see all the clipping issues.

With the force, is how they flew. Seen in New Hope when Obi-Wan tells Luke to use the force flying the X-wing

Although it doesn't have the exact same markings as the same ship Anakin used in ep3, its interesting to think how they would have handled putting a human sized figure in that cockpit and how that would look in first person mode. Because the legs would cover most of the viewing port Making it really hard to see where your going.

I read somewhere those Jedi star fighters had been piloted by clones and others on occasion, but basically became Jedi-exclusive because of how impossible they were to fly. Only Jedi had the skillset and reflexes, like anakin being the only human podracer.

I knew the shape was wrong to be Yoda's, and I never really felt Yoda as a starship fighter, Anakin felt right to be an option, and I don't know why they've chosen Yoda instead (I guess it's another EA dumb mistake)

It still makes more sense for Anakin to have a ship in battlefront 2. He is known for being an amazing pilot

A small tip. Get into a tank drivers position. Literally nothing and no vission. You often are expected to know everything around. Compared to a tank id love to have a seat in this thing (never drove one. Know a folk who does. Been inside few times.)

They didn’t, lore explained that the Jedi star fighters could only be flown by Jedi because only the Jedi, through using the force, could fly them efficiently and effectively as they had little shielding and were way too fast to control manually

Their view might be a bit obstructed but there’s where training kicks in. Real life aircraft and even fighter jets control panels are higher than you think, it comes down to training.
