French onion soup I’m sure is on the top of everyones soup list and if its not, well bone marrow toast will be sure to change that! Super fun and VERY easy recipe for all cooking levels.
Legend has it that King Louis XV was hosting a party in his hunting lodge, during which he became peckish and raided the pantry, only to find butter, champagne (mais bien sûr!), and a handful of onions. Naturally, le roi set to work combining these seemingly meagre ingredients and created the first classic French onion soup.
Now I don't know how much of that tale is true, but we upgraded this "peasants" soup with some bone marrow and it's definitely now fit for a king!
