just caught this one.. my head exploded when I saw the Michigan postcard - I live half an hour from Manistique! Hmmm, a Manistique postcard from Sweden sent to Australia and seen in Michigan. Full circle (around the world in 30 megabytes?) Cheers mate!

The PCB is a car radio.  RF for antenna, the DIN plug is for the CD changer, or XM hookup.  The Big IC is the amp and the multi pin connector above the blade fuse is the connection to the vehicle wiring harness (power, wake, speaker, etc.)

The red car in the photo is a 1957 Bel Air.

10:38 -- That might be an FM tuner from an in-dash car navigation system. Older BMWs had something similar where the whole radio/nav system came in three parts, the in dash monitor, the tuner, and the DVD drive for the map data.

It so popular because you never know what bits we might learn about a vast majority of things.

1957 Chevy Bel-Air convertible, Dave. Only one of America's most iconic cars ever created. I forgive you though, not all of us are gear head geeks.

I bought a SR-10 back in 1973 ( $149 ). I used it when I went to Wisconsin School of Electronics. They were using slide rulers and I hated them. The SR-10 instruction manual had equations to calculate the trig functions.

hello I work on car and by the look of that pcb it looks like a part of a car audio system as it has a stander car aerial socket on it

I got more and more jealous as the video progressed, the mini dosimeter, 2 old analog multimeters, an SR-10 from TI (it seems that their keyboards were better back then), and just as I thought I was as jealous as possible you showed that the book was autographed by Buzz Aldrin himself.

LCD TV (28:15) - I had one of these (very briefly). I think I picked it up late 1980's at a hamfest (ham radio swap meet). It worked, but was not easy to watch. I forgot about it after a couple weeks.
