This is probably a dumb question but how often should I be changing this filter? It looks a little dirty but not bad. Maybe shine a light through as a guide? If I could track unit run time with a fancier thermostat maybe I could base it on how much air is drawn through the filter? What do you think? Thanks for the video. Simple but I am brand new to this kind of filter. They are quite a bit more expensive than the ones I bought on my old house from home depot. I am having some sticker shock. Trying to stretch out the service interval. Do you make one that I can hose out? Thanks in advance for response.

Question...once we replaced the filter the fan is not turning back on. We did remove a very dirty filter that had a lot of residue in it. could that have been why the fan was blowing all the time and now that the filter is clean it does not have to work as hard or is there something wrong now with the unit? its a AprilAire 1620 213

Hi, Because of the location of the filter I can't access bottom interlock rail. I inserted the filter with only top interlock rail. But the filter is steady because of the frame around it. Do you think the top interlock will hold the filter steady while air flows in the furnace starts to blow?

Mine isn’t like this…mine has the filter from hell, idk how to change it…it doesn’t have the aluminum thing I guess I have to thread it through the plastic things…

I can't get mine out. It hits a wall. I tried everything to get it out and I can't. When picking a furnace and installing nobody thought about that wall and since I rent and of course I'm a woman nobody thought to include me. Well, I'm the one that has to replace the filters.
