The Darkest Shore is the first DLC map for CoD WW2 Zombies. Here’s five things it did right.

#5: The Darkest Shore has a different take on the Easter Egg’s end boss fight. Rather than something like the Keeper in Der Eisendrache, we fight several buffed versions of the map’s new boss around the map. While controversial, it makes the map different from the rest and gives the player a tough challenge to overcome.

#4: The Minecarts on this map are a great form of fast travel. It makes getting around the map much easier, faster, and safer.

#3: The map spawns you in directly after the cutscene ends, with all of the zombies shown in the cutscene. It throws the player right into the action and gives them a good amount of points at the same time.

#2: The Pommel is a great reward for completing the Easter Egg. While not an amazing tactical grenade, it serves its role in the sandbox well, helps the map stand out, and gives players who are on the fence about doing the Easter Egg a push in the right direction.

#1: The Ripsaw is an easy to craft wonder weapon that’s fun to use. It’s not the best wonder weapon ever made, but it’s an improvement to the map just prior, The Final Reich, where this was a major problem.
