What is gout arthritis?

Inflammation of joints is called arthritis. Gout is one of the reasons why a patient gets arthritis.

If there is excess uric acid in our body then it starts to deposit in the joints. This can cause sudden pain which can be unbearable. Because of the pain, gout is considered to be a medical emergency. Gout usually is noticed in the thumb of the legs or at the ankle joints.

Gout causes severe pain which makes it hard for the patient to even walk or stand. It can happen in the morning after the patient wakes up.
