If you have a few small fields, then i recommend getting a loading wagon. Its easy to collect the straw, and you get $4-5k per trailer load sold which you can do immediately rather than waiting for the right time.

However when you get bigger fields, its worth skipping to make more use of your time.

This video has been very helpful to me. Canola has got me in the black for the most part and as of right now, I have been investing in more vehicles and machinery for my fleet before I buy more fields for harvest and possibly might use more crops other than Canola. This game is so addictive. It's just as addictive as SnowRunner which was my addictive go to game before my girlfriend got me Farming Simulator 23 on Nintendo Switch for my birthday.

Soy is my favorite to start out with. Lower harvest rate per hectacre, which means less trips with your loading wagon when harvesting. Also, works out as most profitable as the "starter crops." I usually do 1 field of sorghum for chicken feed and the other soy. Then I switch the 1 sorghum to barely and keep the others as soy while saving for grain mill. Meanwhile making some side income from eggs/greenhouses.
Although my end game usually is cotton with sheep. You make insane money with Plus, cotton is so easy during harvest season because you never need to interrupt the harvester. Just collect the bales on your own time.
Also, side note, oilseed radish is amazing when playing with weeds enabled. It "protects" your field in that time between harvesting and planting months. Plus, it's 1 round of fertilizer and the seeds are wayyy cheaper than fertilizer.
So harvest->oilseed

Ok, but what about the WORST way to make $?

I bought the oil mill, but found it nearly useless because yes it makes double of what you would from canola, but it takes 2 canola per L, so your just as efficient on price to sell the canola

Another good thing to do is save an get the flour mill and bakery and rotate crops and you’ll maximise your profit across a year

The highest I have seen canola at is $2.4k, whilst Canola Oil has reached $5.6k.

Soybeans may actually be more efficient. Less to do and it sells for $2.6k

Honestly it makes sense the forklift can move the trailer there is no weight on the pin due to the design so the only time you'd have an issue is stopping.

A good tip is that the two bigest headers work on the starting combine

Soybeans go for a higher price. But why do you prefer canola specifically?

If I suggest farming soybeans because it can produce almost $300, 000 for a double trailer

You don't need the fork lift or any for that matter just buy the trailer in the pallet section and park it next to the egg pallet it will be automatically loaded onto the trailer

I have a quick question that I couldn’t get an answer for. So I planted cotton and harvested it do I have to replant it or will it grow back on the same thing.

Highest I have seen;

Wheat $1, 261
Barley $1, 119
Oat $1, 986
Canola $2, 031
Sorghum $1, 626
Grapes $2, 141
Olives $1, 953
Sunflowers $2, 491
Soybeans $2, 648
Corn $1, 502
Potatoes $645
Sugar beat $523

At the start, just do Soybeans repeatedly.
If you want to earn more money fast, I'd recommend not investing in animals, but more fields and increasing your production capabilities to harvest faster.

Can you explain the output modes of the oli mill?

Wait, if the canola oil makes twice as much bank as regular canola, and the mill takes 2 for 1 than it’s the same thing. 😮

Yes they do need to to add some new mods
