April 1969 - Apollo 11 CDR Neil Armstrong conducts underwater EVA training for the upcoming first lunar landing attempt. In the neutral bouyancy pool he is weighted to simulate 1/6 gravity of the moon. Various activities are practiced including transfer of equipment, recovering from a fall and ascending the LM ladder.

Haven't seen this before. Really interesting. The only similar training footage I'd seen was Buzz aboard the Vomit Comet where they altered the flight profile to simulate 1/6 G.
Must admit, when I saw Neil on his back trying to get up, my first thought was "Are you a turtle?".

At 18:02 you get an "interior" shot of Armstrong exiting the LM hatch. First time I saw that!

I've seen very few videos of the crew in training so thank you for sharing them. Wish there were videos of them training in the LEM but I've never found one. Did you find them on the archive?

I wonder how they cool the suit whilst underwater, since the sublimator in the cooling system only works in a vacuum..
