the biggest thing i wish for when it comes to the "only following people online that make you feel good" is for social media sites to stop showing me things on my feed that i haven't subsribed to. it is so incredibly exhausting to lose track of how much "stuff" there is constantly when half of it is algorithmically created content instead of the one i already filtered for myself

Blocking out time on calendar for yourself is a big one for me! Making sure I am spending time to prioritize my physical, mental, and nutritional health really helps combat anxiety!

One of the best decluttering tips I've picked up is along the lines of the "drop zone." Basically, if you notice that there's some type of thing that you tend to put in a pile somewhere, then create an actual storage space for that thing as close to that spot as usual. Something to hang clothes on should be close to where you tend to dump them in a pile. Something to put your mail in (or shred it if applicable) should be close to where you tend to dump your mail in a pile. Whatever piles of stuff you tend to make in your natural state, put some storage solution right there at the pile site. That way it takes very little effort from tired and apathetic you to place things in some sort of way that at least looks like it was by design as opposed to a random lazy pile. It makes a difference psychologically, even if you still have to occasionally clear out your storage basket or whatever it is.

And yes on the cooking extra food! I love food. I love when I can make great, delicious food. But the actual making of the food is a time consuming chore for me, not a fun hobby. I have absolutely no desire to prepare a new meal every single day, especially on days when I work a closing shift. My husband and I double almost every recipe we make so that we will have leftovers to reheat for lunches or dinners later. It cuts the overall time spent on making meals in half, and it saves you money because you're less likely to order takeout or whatever on those days when you don't have the energy to cook.

I like that you suggest that I "lean into the laziness" by deleting my card info from my browser and specific websites, but...it's bold of you to assume I haven't already tried this and it resulted in me memorizing the card info so I didn't have to get off the couch to order my next pizza delivery...

"don't put it down, put it away" - - I'm feeling a bit attacked here 😆but actually, thank you, that's really helpful!!

Definitely manage your passwords to avoid unwelcome financial or privacy disruptions, and have a plan to change them periodically.

There are many different phone/internet providers out there; do the research and choose something that fits your needs and budget.

For cooking hacks: I know my skills and my shopping habits, so I prepare food in batches that suits that. Not everything is a finished dish, but is a time-consuming prepped ingredient ready to add for a quick meal when time is tight. My freezer is stocked with ziploc bags of bechamel sauce, duxelle, cooked beans, browned minced meats with onions, etc. Most sturdy veggies in my fridge are washed and chopped, ready to use within 3-5 days to reduce friction preparing a meal from scratch later in the week.

Yes to the freezer cooking! It's something my mom always did when I was a kid, and now I do it, too. I take it even further, though. I have a big cooking day every six weeks or so, and then we eat off of it. Making dinner is never more complicated than reheating, throwing in the oven, or sticking in the crock pot. I work full time, so does my husband, and we have two busy kids. It's so much easier to just know what's happening for dinner.

My husband and I share finances but each have individual savings accounts for fun money that we can use however we want. Sharing finances is the best option for us, but having separate fun money accounts also gives us flexibility because we don't have to run all of those personal purchases by each other. Lets me buy all the running gear I want without guilt as long as the money exists in my fun money account.

The best change that I made for my space was making sure that all my stuff had it's own place. That way I can set a timer for 10 minutes and get a majority of things put away if they are out; plus the "don't put it down, put it away" rule makes this much easier too.

"Don't put it down, put it away" is my mantra for this year!

I recently got a haircut which gave me overwhelming anxiety (I have super curly hair, so I went in with long hair down to my shoulder blades, had a couple inches taken off and now it’s sprung up to above my shoulders), I spent ages watching videos about hair growth but then implemented the advice of “follow thing that make you feel good”. I unfollowed all the girls with insanely long thick curly hair and went and found accounts of women rocking their shoulder length curls and it helped so much!

Precooking and freezing is such a great option! Sadly, it's difficult with a small fridge and even smaller freezer section in it.

My best money habit I’ve come up with is to put a certain amount of money every pay check in a seperate account labelled car. Whenever I need to get a service, pay insurance or buy petrol; it comes out of that account. Sometimes for big repairs I need to take money from savings but never having to worry about affording petrol, even if there’s $3 on my card, is so helpful for my mental health. That being said, if I could get rid of my car I absolutely would but my job and where I live make that impossible.

Last month I filed my taxes early, called my ISP and mobile providers to negotiate a cheaper plan (they usually come up with great deals if you mention wanting to leave), and I’ve never felt so in charge of my life.

My partner and I love batch cooking- we cook on Sundays to make a lunch meal and a dinner meal that will last us Monday-Thursday. It means on those busy week days you don’t have to stress about cooking, but you can still experiment and make something fun at the weekends. We have a long rotation of recipes so don’t have to repeat one for a while so we don’t get bored! And it makes food shopping so easy, only 2 meals to buy for each week plus whatever we want for the weekend

People always give me shit for filing my taxes early but it literally takes no time for my simple situation and I get my
Money right away! It grinds me gears SO much that my bf waits until the day before and then requires an extension for something that takes ONE HOUR.

yes, we cook every day a new meal. Here in Italy, at least.

Pro tip: candy carafe next to the drop dish, it's like, as they say, a ~reward~. Way more likely to keep your keys in a dedicated place if there's something to look forward to there too.
