I know folks gripe about the cost, but I splurged on a Studio Display for my new Mac mini M2. I, too, love it so much! Stunning image, excellent sound from the monitor's internal speakers, I think the camera looks great. Had mine for about a week now and love it.

As much as I enjoy your list-style videos, I’m really digging these more casual-style vids. It’s fun to see more of your personality shine through.

I have had my studio display since it released back in March and absolutely love it. The studio display has some faults that are worth noting but it's still a wonderful companion to my 14" MacBook pro. I had been using the LG ultrafine 5K for the past two years and while I would not generally recommend someone make that upgrade, if you have the money and want to spend it on a first party Apple Display, you won't be disappointed.

i love glass screen, they are easy to hold and one important thing, they give beautiful colors forward

One issue no one seems to address is the fact that there’s only 1 input device via thunderbolt. I have a MacBook and a mini and my understanding is only one machine can be used at a time. In other words you can’t switch inputs between two macs. Agree?

I had a hard time going from my 34" wide screen Samsung Thunderbolt to Studio Monitor.

I have two 27“ retina 5K iMacs with stripped internals, with display driver boards so I can use them on my 16“ M1 Max MacBook…

Best experience ever except that all iMac screens and also the LG Ultrafine suffer from pink hue around the display. So not really great for color accuracy:(
The studio display has this fixed apparently

The max. length for Thunderbolt 4 cables, is 2 meters. The one that comes with the Studio Display, is 1, 8 meters, so 20 cm or 8" shorter.

Re Thunderbolt Cable Length, I had that problem with a Thunderbolt dock. Apparently there is a maximum length it can be before the length means it performs below advertised specs so most Thunderbolt things will always be sold with a short cable so they don't get hit with false advertising claims etc.

Love the displays I got 2 of them and use it for my home office. I also use them with windows pc (work provided - they use windows) and it works great! The only issue with using it with windows is that you cannot control brightness with it. You would need to control the brightness with a Mac computer and it will save the settings and carryover to the windows one when you plug it in.

It looked like the monitor did not format to the full size when you had the iPad going. Is that correct and can you correct that? Seems like a waste if the screen doesn't format fully.

I’m LOVING my Studio Display! For me, aside from the gorgeous image quality, the best part of this display is how crisp the text is. The integration with my MBP is also appreciated. I’ve had the Studio Display for 5 days now and had to open my MBP (being used in clamshell mode) but one time because the BT Apple keyboard (2007 version) and Magic Mouse 2 failed to wake the display; for all I know it wasn’t the Display failing to wake but actually the MBP itself. Yes, the Studio Display is ridiculously expensive for a casual user like me, but boy is it a treat to look at and use. I couldn’t be happier. (Standard screen being used in a very bright room because nanotexture would introduce a little fuzziness; standard height, still too high for this 5 ft 1 inch body. Sigh)

Got an LG UltraFine 5K from the Apple Store in Summer 2020 for WFH, and still the best purchase ever. 5K (5120 x 2880), 27-inch with 218 PPI is the most pleasant monitor experience I’ve ever had.

Consider upgrading to the Apple Studio Display later this year when I settled down, depends on my needs and how I will design my setup.

I do music and there’s no way the screen monitors can match the KRK speakers! The only thing that really matters is how important sound is for your set up. If the monitor is good enough, then yes, declutter your desk! Also, It’s too bad iPad does not use the entire screen’s real estate. Has that been rectified 8 months later with iOS 16?

Got mine today! I love it, honestly it's everything I was hoping it would be. We waited a long time for this and I am not disappointed.

One of the best reviews of this kit out there, love your approach Christopher.

I am using the MacBook Pro as well and connecting it to the Mac studio display, but I noticed that it doesn't recognize the non thunderbolt ports and only connects to view the MacBook screen through thunderbolt, is that the same case with you ?

Thanks for the ergonomics tip. My monitor was definitely too high. Luckily I have the LG ergo mount so I can raise/lower easily. Keep up the great work!

I bought the VESA mount version of this. Best purchase I ever made. I'd love to get another one ... but it's not cheap.

Why would you expect tiny internal monitor speakers to sound as good as bookshelf style studio audio monitors? Although if you're not a music producer, you might find the EQ on the KRKs to be flat and lacking in bass, especially if you listen to electronic or hip hop music.
