Показать описание
The valgus stress test is used to evaluate the integrity of the medial collateral ligament (MCL). The patient is supine. Passively flex the knee to about 30 degrees and apply a valgus force. Bring the knee back into full extension and apply the valgus force again. Laxity at 30 degrees suggests an isolated MCL injury, laxity at 0 degrees suggests a multiligament knee injury. A positive test is pain or laxity.
