I don't really know who to ask about this, webmd is no help and I can't afford to go to an actual doctor right now, especially if it isn't actually anything serious. Anyway, I got injured the other day while skateboarding. I was doing a trick down a chest-high set of stairs and my knee folded under me and my ankle folded too. I heard a popping sound and was in severe pain (mostly in the ankle.) Oddly, I could pretty much walk, though it did cause the pain to worsen. That was about a week ago. I can walk now but my knee feels weird, (not too painful, just not full strength) and my ankle still hurts, higher than it did the last time I sprained my ankle. Neither the knee or the ankle are very swollen. Is this serious enough to go get checked out or should I continue the RICE method at home?

I was told I have patellofemoral syndrome, but my pain on my knee is where you showed. My knees also give out on their own a lot and I believe one time it gave out so bad it could have strained my MCL. How easy is it to miss an MCL strain on an MRI? Because i dont believe i have patellofemoral syndrome

I’m watching this even though I have no one to test on me. Honestly just looking at the way he’s putting the knee is making my knee hurt so I think it’s safe to asume I hurt my mcl.

I hit my knees into the dashboard involved in a car accident at 45-50mph. My knees got busted up and bruised and swollen. I can walk although I have to limp pretty bad and walk slow. I can put weight on although I don't really like to because it doesn't feel good. Bending is difficult because of how stiff it is. It swells right back up when I stand for much time and makes it difficult to walk. NP said I appear to have no broken patella, no damaged ligaments based off her moving it and bending it. No x-rays or anything were taken and I just ran out of my health insurance so I'm afraid to go to the Dr just to be told I'm fine. Should I be worried? I feel tenderness on the medial side of my left knee but that's also where the swelling mainly is. I'm wondering if it's bursitis? Sprained MCL? It's been 2 weeks since the accident and my swelling is improving and my bruise started running down my inner leg to my calf. I'm guessing that was fluid and blood leaving my knee

I had an ACL and meniscus surgery in October after having MRI done but I’m suffering from what I believe to be my MCL tear or I even may say snap it’s got that much play but my physio is just brushing it aside and saying to ask the surgeon what should I do I want to return to football as it’s almost been two years but I can’t with a unstable leg and it gives way when moving quick in certain directions

Hey JG, so I'm thinking I strained my MCL, but I'm not sure. The pain is not exactly where your finger was, but my pain is a bit above and closer to the knee cap. Is that still considered the MCL? I play soccer, and since the virus, my right knee has been killing me.

I am a 59 year old female and have bone on bone with get along pretty well though. With that being said I was walking the other day with my camera and then I came home and I sat in my reclining chair then later on when I got up my left inner part of my knee was so painful I could almost no put any weight on it at all I went to a clinic and they said I sprained or tore my MCL and put me on some steroids for six days I’m done with those. I’m still having quite a lot of pain when I stand. I’m using a crutch to get around but I’m wondering what can I do to help with this. I’ve been icing and using heat a couple times a day with some It’s been about 2 1/2 weeks and I was actually able to ride my stationary bike for five minutes before it was too painful so I hope I’m on the right track here any advice you can give me would be so greatly appreciate it because it’s very painful thank you

If I can bend my knee and straighten it pretty easy does that mean I have an mcl tear

This video is 5 years old, but if I get a reply, even from anyone here in comments i guess its a start. Im 43, 6'4" 270lbs so based on my frame im probably a good 30 lbs overweight but I have an athletic build. Ive had to cross my legs when sitting on the ground "indian style" for the last 20 years due to sciatic pain from nerve damage due to scar tissue from beating lymphoma when I was 20. Im normally really flexible ( I used to be able to lift my feet over my knees and walk on my knees even) but i took a fall and slid off my deck 5 months ago and since then if i sit Indian style i cant bend forwards anymore or else the torsion on the inside of my left knee ( right side looking down) feels like its being stabbed.

I can do anything normally with no pain its just if i cross my leg and lift it hurts. It hasn't really improved. So im wondering if i should wait another 3-6 months and just wear a brace and avoid those positions, or would xrays MRI be a waste of my money, it only hurts if i bend it a certain way. The only issue I have is i do cablling/ networking for work or have to reach under areas from the floor, due to my size I cant really stretch my legs out flat so I find myself "pushing" the knee flex.

Theres no swelling. but am I going to have to deal with this for years like the sciaica or is it something that sounds like it may require surgery to fix ( or will surgery cause more complications)

I fell due to black ice, the doctor said I have partially torn my my ligament.( I went to public hospital ). he failed to tell me which ligament. and he recommended me to use plaster cast which I refused and got my self a strap bandage that will fix my knee from moving. I can walk on it, it feels a little weaker. the swelling even if it is minimal, is fading away. I still feel a pop occasionally and some sloppiness when I move my leg to 90 degrees. hope you can assure me Doc. thanks for helping people.)) is it ok to walk on it ?

I did this test and I don’t experience much pain, the pain is very slight, almost like a sting. I injured my MCL about 2 years ago and I still feel a bit of pain. What do you recommend?

Can a knee manipulation cause an MCL tear? I had a TPF surgery back in December and I'm recovering from it, but my ROM wasnt improving so I had to get the MUA. Ever since I had one a week or so ago the inside of my knee towards my thigh has been the cause of a lot of my pain... is it something to check out?

My knee will randomly give out and bend inwards because I sprained it during a wrestling match last year. What should I do so it won't keep hurting
