Hisoka is one of the few characters who would openly talk about his abilites and explain his strategies to his opponents. And it's not even an ego thing, he uses it to distract his opponents and kills them. Only person so far who wasn't tricked was Chrollo.

Impressive use of misdirection- in the magician sense- by Hisoka here as well. He got Gotoh focused on the coins being returned, so Gotoh didn’t pay attention to other attack vectors.

What's great about Hunter x Hunter is it's unexpected deaths like Kite, Pokkle, Ponzu, this, etc. In other shounen you can pretty much guees who's gonna die when. But in this anime, everyone can die anytime :D

I love seeing bungee gum being used for maneuverability. It's surprisingly versatile and makes all of Hisoka's fights among the best in the series.

HunterxHunter is so peak, the action is smooth, the animation is fluid, the writting is top-notch, the fights are unique, the soundtrack is amazing, the characters are memorable, the dark themes and messages are excellent. Truly, the best shounen anime and Togashi's Magnum Opus.

Hisoka is a fighter that works exceptionally well with any amount of set up. This much was what he did when he was running in blindly, and he could still set things up so his actions can counter his opponent.
